Beloved Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam

When the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) was "two bows'-length away, or nearer" he did not forget about us.
So how ugly are we in those moments when we forget him (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam).
"There is no level of divine presence (that you can reach) where the Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam), whose doors never close, is not there.
Remember him (Salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) in the presence of the Absolute."
Sayyidi Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari (may Allah be pleased with him and benefit us by him)

IMPORTANCE OF SALAWAT SHARIF

The most virtuous of our dhikr is salawat-i sharif. A believer will benefit spiritually to the degree that he sends peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam). This is because the value of our Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) in the eyes of Allah is most high.
The most important virtue of a servant is to recognize the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) clearly.
Devotees of the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam), therefore, embrace the salawat'us-sharifah as a continuous chant, for they are means of increasing the love of the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) in a Believer's heart.
It has been narrated that an individual who had failed to adopt the character of the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) saw him in his dream one night.
The Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) ignored him. Sadly he asked:
"O Messenger of Allah! (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) Are you upset with me?"
"No".
"In that case why are you ignoring me?"
"I don't know who you are".
"How can that be o Messenger of Allah! (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) I am from your community. The scholars say that you can recognise members of your community better than a mother recognizes her own child…"
"That is true. However, I do not see any trace of my character on you. In addition, no blessings or peace have ever come to me from you. Know that I only recognise those of my community to the degree that they have taken on my character".
On awakening from his sleep deeply saddened, this believer then repented for his former state and took on the praiseworthy character of the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam). He spent a great portion of his time sending peace and blessings on the Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam). A little while later he saw the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) in his dream once more. This time the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) said to him:
"Now I know you and I will intercede for you"…

Nur of Beloved Nabi sallallahu alaihi wasallam

"If you see the universe as a great book, you will see the Nur of Sayyidina Muhammad (Salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) as the pen's ink with which that book was written.
If you see the universe as a tree, you will see his (Salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) Nur as originally its seed and consequently its fruit.
If you see the universe as an animate being, you will see his (Salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) Nur as its soul.
If you see the universe as a macro-human, you will see his (Salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) Nur as its intellect.
If you see the universe as a flower garden, you will see his (Salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) Nur as its nightingale.
If you see the universe as a lofty, richly decorated castle with many rooms and apartments showing the splendor of the Eternal Sovereign's sovereignty and His Glory's marvels, as well as the beauties of His Grace's manifestations and the wonderful designs of His art, you will see Prophet Muhammad's Nur (Salla Allahu alaihi wa aalihi wa sallam) as a spectator."

Adab Of Salawat Sharif

Imam Abu 'Abdillah Muhammad b. Marzuq al-'Ayyashi (may Allah have mercy upon him) was asked if it is proper to send prayers upon the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) while walking through the marketplace. He replied: "This practice is 'against what is superior' [khilaf al-awla]."
The questioner then asked him, "If that is so, then why have we been encouraged to remember Allah in the marketplaces—as is mentioned in a number of hadith traditions?" The Shaykh replied,
"It is because our prayers upon the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) are presented to him in their exact form, including the time and place in which they were uttered, so it behooves the invoker of prayers to actively seek out a wholesome, pure, and clean place for them."
(Shaykh Muhammad Tahir al-Kattani, Matali' al-Sa'ada fi Iqtiran Kalimatay al-Shahada, pp. 239–240)

Salawat of Essence by Ibn Arabi : Explained by Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani.

Allahumma salli `alaa 'dh-dhaat al-mutalsam wa 'l-ghayb al-mutamtam laahoot al-jamaal naasoot al-wisaal tal`ati 'l-haqq ka-sawbi insaan al-azal fee nashri man lam yazal fee qaabi naasoot al-wisaal al-aqrab. Allahumma salli bihi minhu feehi `alayhi wa sallim.

Who knows Arabic knows how profound this salaat is. Allahumma salli `alaa 'dh-dhaat al-mutalsam wa 'l-ghayb al-mutamtami laahooti 'l-jamaal. Here it expresses that there is no one more beautiful than Prophet ﷺ , he is the beauty of this universe and he is the beauty of heavens and here Allah sends His prayers and praises on that Essence that no one knows about, for it is hidden and you cannot penetrate its realities without knowing the secret codes needed to open it and decode them. For example, if you have a rough diamond it is a large rock which you break down and break down until you reach the gem, then you cut it nicely and then after that you have to polish it. He then mentions the Dhaat al-Mutalsam, that essence that is covered and which no one can open, and al-Ghayb al-Mutamtam, the unseen ghayb that no one can reach or discuss. It then mentions al-Laahoot al-Jamaal. "Laahoot" means that which belongs to earth and "Naasoot" is the connection from earth to heavens, the appearance of Truth, which is Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ , where Allah dressed him with the dresses of Justice, Beauty and ...of human beings.

Insan al-azal fee maa nashari maa lam yazal, "the human being that is living from azal to abad who will open from the secrets of heavenly Names and Attributes." Fee qaabi naasoot al- wisaal al-aqrab. He opens only to those who reached the connection between earthly life and heavenly life, he opened to them as they are moving forward to heavens. Yaa Allah salli bihi. Salli bihi is different than salli `alayh. It means make the salaat through him. Salli bihi minhu. Make the salaat from him to him from the Prophet ﷺ to the Prophet ﷺ and in him, wa sallim, and give greetings of peace. Amin.

Shaykh Nur al Din

Shaykh Nur al-Din al-Shuni is believed to have been the first person to bring people together for the sole purpose of sending prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ . Before him, each person would have their own awrad (plural of wird) of prayers which they would do on their own. But Shaykh al-Shuni created gatherings in which people came together to do this, and from him these gatherings spread to the Hijaz, al-Sham, Egypt, the Muslim West, and West Africa.
Shaykh al-shuni's daily wird consisted of sending prayers 10,000 times every morning and another 10,000 every evening, beside leading group gatherings in which they would send salawaat upon the Messenger ﷺ for several hours.
